Senator Alexis Calatayud, Lt. Governor Nominee Senator Bryan Ávila, Speaker-Designate Sam Garrison, and Representative Juan Carlos “J.C.” Porras, hosted by Representative Alex Rizo, participated in the Latin Builders Association’s Legislative Panel.

The panel discussed the 2026 Legislative Session and the upcoming 2027 Legislative Session, including Live Local, condo reform, housing, infrastructure, and other issues impacting South Florida’s construction industry.

The “Dangers of Communism and Totalitarian Regimes” curriculum, developed by the Florida Department of Education, was officially unveiled by Governor Ron DeSantis at the Bay of Pigs Brigade 2506 Museum.

Chair, Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez, Senator Bryan Ávila, Representatives Alex Rizo, Tom Fabricio, and Mike Redondo, Commissioner Vicki L. Lopez, and County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined the Governor for the unveiling. The course will be taught beginning in the 2026–27 school year.
