Thank you to Representative McFarland and Senator Calatayud for championing HB 765/SB 1690, and to Governor DeSantis for signing it into law.

This bill establishes the Center for Professional Recognition, strengthens child care licensing and screening requirements, clarifies insurance coverage for large family child care homes, and creates the Florida Child Care Fund to expand access to early learning opportunities across the state.

Our director of policy participated in a panel hosted by the Heart of Florida United Way exploring the impact of early childhood education and economic growth. Business leaders listened to the unique perspectives of the fellow panelists all highlighting the impact of child care access on employers and the workforce. Daniela shared highlights of the 2026 Legislative Session and looked ahead to policy efforts that will support access to care.
