City of Miami Animal Control

City of Miami Animal Control Adoption price is $40 plus the cost of vetting for each animal In turn, this allows us to successfully function as a "no kill" shelter.

The City of Miami Ketcher/Keheley Animal Shelter was opened on December 2, 2016, which upgraded capacity from 16 to 45 dogs. We now use the previous animal shelter building as our Intake Shelter, where we keep dogs for at least three business days for stray hold, as well as for observation, assessment, and quarantine. We started the City of Miami Animal Control page in July of 2017 to ope

n up communication with the community. Our goal is to use Facebook as a tool for our citizens to share pictures of their missing pets, as well as to see what animals we have on stray hold in hopes of reuniting lost pets with their owners. We also share pictures of animals that are available for adoption to help encourage people to visit the shelter and increase adoptions. The KKAS works closely with our local rescues, the Animal Welfare & Adoption Agency and the Miami Animal Alliance, for placing our animals in homes. Our hours of operation are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Sundays and Mondays are by appointment only. Please call 918-541-2275 to:
* Set up appointments
* Report an animal at large
* Report a missing animal (please feel free to utilize our Facebook to send or post pictures)
* Request a trap
* or for any other questions you may have

Harvey is a handsome 7–8-year-old pit mix with a gentle soul and a quiet charm all his own. Unlike dogs who demand to be the center of attention, Harvey is content simply being near his people. He's the kind of companion who doesn't ask for much—just a soft place to rest, a little kindness, and a family to call his own.

This sweet older gentleman has a calm, easygoing nature and has shown little interest in bothering the cats at the shelter. We can also arrange a meet-and-greet with any dogs already in the home to help ensure a good fit.

Senior dogs like Harvey are often overlooked, and the odds aren't always in their favor. While younger dogs tend to catch everyone's eye, Harvey is waiting patiently for someone to see the wonderful dog behind the gray muzzle and wise eyes. He may not be flashy, but he has so much love left to give.

What Harvey needs most is a chance—a person willing to look beyond his age and see the loyal friend waiting for a forever home. Could you be the miracle he's been hoping for?

If you are interested in him, please contact us at 918-541-2275 to set up a play date!
