Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade (HSCMD) is a community-based non-profit organization with t The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade, Inc.

was incorporated on April 1, 2001 and serves as a prenatal and infant care coalition. The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade is responsible for the establishment and oversight of the Miami-Dade Healthy Start system, which includes directing funds for continuous care coordination to pregnant women and children birth to age three, evaluating services, and quality improvement and assurance respons

ibilities. Primary goals are

1. to reduce infant mortality
2. reduce the number of low birth weight and pre-term birth
3. improve maternal and child health developmental outcomes. The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade current membership consists of 100 maternal, infant and child health community stakeholders including consumers of maternal and child health services, migrant and community health centers, local hospitals, birthing centers and other providers of maternal child health services, local medical societies, local health planning organizations; local maternal and infant health advocacy interest groups; county and municipal governments; social service organizations; local education communities; and community organizations that represent or serve the target population.

It was a wonderful day celebrating breastfeeding families, connecting with parents and caregivers, and sharing resources that support healthy beginnings for moms and babies throughout Miami-Dade County.

Thank you to WIC for bringing families, community organizations, and advocates together for 15 years of education, connection, and support. HSCMD is grateful to have been part of this special day and to continue supporting families across our community. 💕

This weekend, the HSCMD team was proud to join the Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies Wellness Fair hosted by March of Dimes! 💜

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with families in our community, share helpful resources, and come together around a shared goal: supporting healthier moms, healthier babies, and stronger families.
