Dear advocates and activists of Haiti,
I am writing to you today to urge you to consider the noble idea of the return of the constitutional empire of Hayti. As you are well aware, Haiti has a rich history and a unique place in the world as the first independent nation in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the only nation born out of a successful slave revolt.
The constitutional empire of Hayti, established by Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines in 1804, represented a bold and visionary experiment in governance and self-determination. It was a symbol of strength, unity, and independence for the people of Haiti.
By considering the return of the constitutional empire of Hayti, we can honor the legacy of those who fought for freedom and justice, and reaffirm our commitment to building a strong and prosperous nation for all Haitians. This historical institution can serve as a source of inspiration and pride for generations to come.
I urge you to explore this idea further, engage in dialogue with your fellow advocates and activists, and work towards a shared vision of a united and empowered Haiti. Together, we can uphold the values of liberty, equality, and fraternity that have always been at the heart of the Haitian spirit.
Let us draw strength from our past as we chart a course towards a brighter future for Haiti and its people.
In solidarity,
Monseigneur Dorvilus Jean II
