The Department of Food and Nutrition for Miami-Dade County Public Schools is America’s fourth largest food service program serving a diverse population of students healthy breakfast, lunch and after school care meals in over 350 schools, including elementary, k-8 centers, middle, senior high schools and alternative, specialized centers. t and School Board Wellness Policies. Free breakfast is served at all schools for all M-DCPS students. Lunch entrees are planned to reflect the variety of cultures and flavors of Miami, always incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables and salads for selection. Afterschool meals are offered at over 200 schools offering students healthy nourishment before departing or home. The Department of Food and Nutrition technology offers the community an online meal account and tracking system for parents to manage their child’s purchases, nutrition information and conveniently pay online. Household adults are also able to apply for meal benefits online for a fast and convenient process. The Department of Food and Nutrition partners with agencies like Common Threads, Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Fuel up to Play en Español, Healthy West Kendall, etc.
