Student to Student Miami is officially here!

Our inaugural cohort of exceptional student ambassadors met at the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach yesterday to hear from Holocaust Survivor, Laszlo Selly, and to learn about Federation and the Memorial’s Education Center.

We look forward to continuing their official orientation and training with Student to Student staff, when they will prepare to engage with their non-Jewish peers on topics like Jewish peoplehood, antisemitism, and Israel.

Criticizing Israeli government policy is legitimate. Anti-Zionism is not. Anti-Zionism denies the Jewish people the right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland and is a modern form of antisemitism. The Miami Herald meticulously explains why.

To hear candidate Oliver Larkin define himself as “anti-Zionist” is jarring — and that’s an understatement given where he’s running. | Opinion

Tonight is the start of Tisha B'Av, when we mourn the destruction of both Temples and the tragedies that followed in Jewish history. The saddest day on the Jewish calendar, it reminds us that the Jewish people can - and will - survive destruction. Jewish Federations carry this forward as we build flourishing Jewish communities no matter what we face.

Jewish Federations applaud the U.S. Senate’s unanimous passage of the bipartisan Older Americans Act (OAA) Reauthorization Act. Renewing this act is an important step in securing access to services for older adults across the country. The legislation reauthorizes and strengthens the nation’s primary law supporting older Americans through programs which include nutrition assistance, caregiver support, transportation, elder justice initiatives and services that help older adults remain in their homes and communities.
