Oklahoma Emergency Response Team - OKERT

Oklahoma Emergency Response Team - OKERT OKERT is a Disabled Veteran 501(c)3 owned company. All Volunteer Disaster Response Team. We will provide training for all volunteers.

Our mission is to respond when requested to support any disasters that might impact Oklahoma. We meet that mission by reaching out to our veterans to reintegrate them back into civilian life. We will provide them with a Purpose, Mission, Self-Worth, and Community bonding. Additionally we reach out to ALL Oklahomans that simply want to help fellow Oklahomans following disasters. We seek anyone that

might think or want to volunteer during disasters. We are an all-volunteer team and seek sponsorship and donations to ensure we are mission ready.

Good morning:
The following is an update on our facility currently being used as a warming center for those that need it.
We will start with thanking our community for the amazing support we have received. Everything from food donations to beds. Our
donation rooms are currently filled. Blankets/pillows and sheet sets will last us for some time. We have hygiene kits and ready to hand out to the folks that move on.
We will be requesting beds/mattresses/boxsprings/etc. in the near future. Our residents are currently sleeping on air mattresses with zero complaints, so we are able to focus on other areas. Those areas include our showers and washer/dryer units. We picked up the shower units this week and are scheduled to have a plumber on site Tuesday to do the install. This is going to be a huge addition to our facility for folks that just want to come and shower. There will be of course, male and female showers. Thanks to Westco and Millis, we have stackable washer/dryer units getting installed this week. Again, a huge addition to our facility as folks will be able to have clean clothes versus the dirty stacking up on them.
Food donations have been such a blessing! Canned goods and protein are always a need. We try and supplement meals with a salad if fresh vegetables come in.
We are now able to accept meals as in if your group/organization or simply a family, would like to prepare a meal be it lunch or dinner, we can schedule a date for you. We have had many requests to prepare, and Thursday dinner is the only day we have already scheduled. If interested in preparing a meal, contact us either by PM or Rick's cell at 918-541-6056.
Monetary donations can now be accepted:
Paypal: [email protected]
Cashapp: $okert
Checks Payable to: OKERT
We can provide a donation letter containing our EIN information if requested. We are in need of a Grant Writer as well.
Our staff would like to thank everyone that has provided donations to include monetarily. Our mission could not be possible without your generosity. Thank you for following along with our mission to change lives and assist our low-income families. God Bless and stay warm!

In our effort to ensure Ottawa County residents get to know, speak to, and question the myriad of candidates running for various positions in this state, we are actively scheduling candidates from both parties to come to Ottawa County to speak.
We have already announced our speakers for tomorrow evening, and we hope you will take time to come and hear from them but Feb 5th we have a triad of speakers. Candidate for Governor Jake Merrick, Chris Meredith, candidate for Insurance Commissioner, and just confirmed Democrat Nick Coffey, candidate for Attorney General will all be attending! More on them later but I want to announce speakers as we get them. I am excited to be able to be getting candidates that want to come to the Northeast and more importantly Ottawa County. Stay tuned as I continue to get all of the candidates here so that you can be a more informed voter.

Good Morning:
OKERT/GNP had a busy ending to last week. Along with the gas leak we had sewer drainage issues. That led to basically new pipe being laid from the building to the main sewer system. But, God brought us a amazing team from Jay Miller Plumbing and we were back online in no time. They were courteous, worked fast, and kept me up to date on everything going on.
We are still in the process of getting settled as we intake people and learning as we go. We have had a bunch of challenges, but God has brought us through every one of them.
We have been very blessed with a good number of donations this weekend. Everything from food to air matrasses. We have folks bring specific requests for the folks that are here like new boots, clothes etc. We could not get to this point without the amazing citizens in this county! We have a few stop by just for a tour and left us very blessed and they were lifted up by our process here.
I do get several requests from folks about funding. Right now we are searching for a grant writer, but I have added our Cash app and PayPal so that people can donate though those apps. All donations are tax deductible and if you need a letter from us, please let me know and we can get you one right away.

Cash App: $okert
Paypal: [email protected]

Both of these apps deposit directly to our account. On behalf on my staff, we greatly appreciate everyone that has either donated or volunteered some time. We cannot provide this service to our community without your generosity. Have a very blessed day!

Team OKERT/GNP want to wish all of our supporters a very Happy New Year!!! 2025 ended on a huge positive after years of working hard toward a facility in which to serve our folks on the street and low income families. We are looking forward to serving our County in 2026!!!

Good afternoon from the warming facility. We are located at 600 Olive St in North Miami. If you are out and about and see any of the street citizens out and about tell them we are here, open, and tonight for dinner we have a big pot of Turkey soup on. We are not ready to accept pets as of yet. We are will be looking at a couple of buildings (sheds) that might be donated tomorrow and then we can take pets. They will be in crates and power ran to the shed for heat but frankly just getting them out of the wind and cold is a much better than being out in it.
We continue to make moderate improvements, and our needs like for now is fairly small. I have a shortlist below. We hope to have our showers in soon and the washer/dryer combos around the second week of January. If anyone has dog crates of all sizes, we will need them as soon as we get a shed or two up.
Donation Needs:
Bottled water
Warm Hats/Gloves/Scarfs
Hand and foot warmers
Warm blankets (thicker)
Sheets/Pillowcases
Thank you in advance. God Bless!

Good afternoon:
Our latest update from our new facility follows.
The other day one of our staff smelled gas. A gas leak was indeed found, and a repairman came to fix it but yet another leak was somewhere in the many lines. He came back yesterday and isolated the leak, repaired and back in operation. Now of course, it would not have been a Friday without more new building owners' woes. We had toilets in the lady's room clogged and well we knew we were in trouble when the plumbers could not get it unclogged. Looks like we may have damage anywhere along the line so, yep, we need to dig to find the issue. More money that goes out fast but does not come in as fast. We will know the extent this coming week so prayers are appreciated it is something relatively easy to fix.
We have been having temps in the mid 70s low 80s which has allowed us to take out time and set the building as we need it. All that changes this weekend with freezing temps coming in. Prayers we can get people into the facility and more importantly, those we cannot bring in will have a warm place to stay.
We are looking for volunteers that are passionate about this mission and are ready to show the compassion it takes along with patience etc... We are looking to train folks in all aspects of what we do and keep this mission going for years to come. Reach out to us via PM or my contact number 918-541-6056.
Our team would like to wish you a very happy and blessed 2026. Be safe and be watching for further posts.

Good morning
OKERT/GNP continues to grow in our new facility. We have received some amazing donations and for those that donated, thank you very much!
We continue to do some minor destruction to make ready where we are going to put the showers. We will have to do more destruction to make ready the area the Washer/Dryer units will be going.
We did have a bit of an issue last night. One of our Volunteers thought they could smell gas. Sure enough, a small leak in one of the hot water heater connections. Fire Dept recommended we have a plumber check it out, we have one booked.
We will be having a Christmas dinner here on Christmas Day. We are looking forward to breaking bread with those that are here.
The staff and I are slowly getting into a routine as are the residents. We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for your continued support!

So how awesome is our God? We were in need of stackable washer/dryers. I was notified tonight, Westco and Milles have donated a set each!!! Thank you to both companies for these amazing donations!!! Clients will be able to do laundry on site now!

12/15/2025

Good afternoon all:
My deepest apologies for not updating you all sooner but we have been very busy. I wanted to try and update you a couple times a day but events kept me from that. I promise I will do better.
We are getting adjusted to the new facility. A wonderful facility that is filled with the Holt Spirit! It is simply amazing, and God's plan was and is just as amazing. We have been busy moving things, setting things up, checking people in, and best part COOKING! We are blessed to not only have a large kitchen but two very good cooks. We are working hard getting ready to put a couple of showers in as well as a laundry room. Our team handyman has a great plan for the Showers and we are moving things to accommodate 2 stackable washer/dryer combos. We have plenty of food for now. Meat is a bit thin, but we can make things stretch pretty darn good. I brought in a TV and DVD player for the folks to watch to help the day along in this cold. We have games as well. They all will have chores each day which consist of sweeping, mopping and vacuuming as well as anything else that pops up.
I cannot thank those of you that brought donations in! Those that requested a way to donate online make use our non-profit PayPal so that we can provide a donation letter for tax purposes if you would like. That address is simply [email protected] It should read, Oklahoma Emergency Response Team. Thank you in advance for doing so. So many simply do not want their name used but know that you are such a blessing!!
Lastly, we are looking for the washer/dryer combos if anyone has any they would like to donate. As always, you see folks on the streets, they may not know we are open. Please stop by and let them know. We are working to get rides for them as well. Have a very blessed evening and stay warm!

Good Morning
7 years all, 7 years and the prayers are answered. Our God is an awesome God and blessed us beyond anything I would have imagined. Anyway, we are live as in we will start taking folks today for the weekend. Temps are going to drop pretty fast to I ask, when you are out and about today, you see someone, let them know we are open. Right now we do not have transportation (working it)
I would like to invite anyone that would like to volunteer to come by around 1:00 so we can explain duties, give options, and of course, we are going to give people regardless of if you want to volunteer or not a tour of the building. Come on by and you can see how our Father blessed our cause. We will open the doors this morning at 10:00.
Folks asked about donations. We are actually set for this 1st opening. We had a awesome lady bring in 20 brand new pillows, pillow covers and several pairs of new shoes! We also had yet another awesome Mom & Daughter bring us a box of blankets. If anything, blankets would be it.
Come on by and check out the facility and if you like to volunteer, we will get you signed up!!!
Lastly, if you would like to make a monetary donation:
[email protected] is out OKERT account. We will show you where the money goes and what is purchased! If you would like a tax letter to claim on your taxes, please ask. Have a very safe and blessed day all! Remember, GOD IS GOOD!
