⚪Our Contraband Recovery Team was recognized for their dedication to maintaining the safety and security of our facilities by identifying and removing contraband.

⚪ Staff from across our department were honored for their contributions to World Cup preparations. From participating in tabletop exercises to serving at the Incident Command Post, their collaboration and professionalism helped demonstrate MDCR’s operational readiness for this major international event.

Safety and preparedness are at the forefront of everything we do. ’s Training Bureau recently hosted a Transport and Courts Operations Course, led by ARC Tactical, to enhance the skills and strategies of our Transportation and Courts Bureau staff.

The course provided hands-on instruction on securing inmates, safe driving strategies, post-transport procedures, and route selection, ensuring our officers are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to perform their duties safely and effectively.

is proud to celebrate two outstanding students from our who were honored through the South Florida Police Benevolent Association Scholarship Program! 🎓

Jakhi Barber, son of Corporal J. Barber, was named the First Place scholarship recipient. He will begin his academic journey at the University of West Florida, where he plans to major in Construction Management.

Kymani Corbett, son of Officer L. Corbett and Corporal J. Davis, was awarded the Michael "Mr. LoJack" Donsky Scholarship. He will attend Lincoln University, where he will play collegiate football while pursuing his education.

We are proud of both students for their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments. We wish them all the best as they begin this new chapter and look forward to all they will achieve!

This week, hosted the Women in Public Safety Leadership Lab Series, bringing together women from corrections, police, fire rescue, and other public safety agencies across Miami-Dade County.

As part of their Community Service Day, COT Class #151 partnered with the Office of Chairman Anthony Rodriguez and Miami-Dade Parks for a beautification project at Tropical Park. 🌳

Together, the trainees planted trees throughout the park and helped clean up the area, making a positive impact on our community while building camaraderie through service.
