Today, we mourn the passing of a true American icon, Dolly Parton — a legendary artist whose music, generosity, and enduring spirit touched generations and inspired millions around the world.

In honor of her remarkable life and legacy, we are joining government buildings across the nation, following the President’s order, in lowering our flags to half-staff.

Her voice may be forever remembered through her music, but her legacy of kindness, resilience, and love will live on.

Rest in peace, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the memories, and the magic. 🤍🇺🇸

🌪️ Courage. Strength. Resilience. We will never forget.

Today, we remember the 34th anniversary of Hurricane Andrew and the devastating impact it had on South Florida on August 24, 1992.

We honor the lives lost, the families affected, and the incredible courage and resilience of the Miami-Dade community. Andrew tested us, but it also showed the strength, compassion, and unity of our community.

As we remember the past, let us continue to prepare for the future and stand together in times of need.

We will never forget. 💙

Supervisor Garcia was pleased to attend CAMACOL’s inaugural session launching its Private-Sector Coalition on the Role of Free Enterprise in a Free Cuba. It was an important gathering of business leaders and experts working together to develop policy recommendations for health, business development, direct investment, and infrastructure recovery in a future free and democratic Cuba.

It was also a pleasure to see Joe Chi and Ermita Pastor Espino and join fellow leaders in this important conversation about the role of the private sector in building a stronger future for Cuba. 🇨🇺

A century ago, the 19th Amendment marked a historic milestone in the fight for women’s voting rights. Today, Miami-Dade is proud to have a woman serving as Supervisor of Elections—and to continue the work of making sure every eligible voter has the opportunity to make their voice heard. 🇺🇸🗳️

Whether you vote early, by mail, or at your assigned precinct on Election Day, make a plan to participate. Check your ballot, know your polling location, bring your valid ID, and most importantly—VOTE!

The right to vote was hard-won. Let’s honor that history by using it. ❤️🤍💙
