In recognition of Labor Day, the Miamisburg Civic Center, Community Center and other city offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026 and will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 8 a.m.

As a result of the holiday, trash collection and recycling will be delayed by one-day.

Essential services, such as the Fire District and police will continue to operate.

Today, Ron’s Pizza and Tavern Miamisburg hosted the annual 9/11 Honor Luncheon in Downtown Miamisburg.

The event was started by Fox Motors Inc. and co-sponsored by Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Richard Denny Agency, Farmers Insurance and Ron’s Pizza, who generously provided food and beverages to military personnel, firefighters and police officers as a way to recognize their service and daily contributions.

Miamisburg Mayor Michelle Collins, members of City Council and City staff, joined them at the luncheon to personally thank our first responders for the dedication, courage and service they provide to our community every day.

During the City Council meeting last night, Mayor Michelle Collins officially swore in our newest police officer, Corey Jackowski, in front of city council members, staff and his family and friends.

Corey is from Xenia and has dedicated the past 11 years to running a gym. Additionally, he has four years of experience as a Plant Manager at a metal manufacturing company.

This month, he will start his police career at Sinclair Police Academy. Once he graduates, he will move on to field training with the Miamisburg Police Department.

Corey and his wife, Abby, are proud parents of a two-year-old daughter and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of another daughter in October.

During the City Council meeting held tonight, the members of the City Council voted unanimously (6-0) to impose a nine-month moratorium on Data Centers within the city limits.

Yesterday, the city welcomed its new City Planner, Kyle Gibbs. He joins us from the City of Cincinnati, where he served as a planner.

A local resident, Kyle grew up in Eaton and has family in Miamisburg.

He holds a degree in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati, as well as an associate degree in Geography and a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) certificate from Sinclair Community College.

Due to a Heat Advisory issued for our area, Rumpke Waste & Recycling will be starting its collection routes earlier than usual this week to help crews beat the heat.

Residents are encouraged to set their trash and recycling out the night before their scheduled service day to ensure they are ready when crews arrive.

Also, Monday, September 7 is Labor Day, so there will be a one-day delay in collection service all week.

Council will review and discuss several agenda items:

• Mayor Michelle Collins will administer the oath of office to Police Office Corey Jackowski.
• Introduction of Kyle Gibbs the New City Planner
• A Resolution to accept Montgomery County Community Development Block Grant Funds.
• Motion to close roads forn to close roads for Miamisburg High School Homecoming Parade and Shriners Parade.
