What a bitter sweet day!

Your Michie, Eastview , Guys, and Stantonville fire departments came together for our annual trainings. All the required by law annual classes. However, today hit differently. Brent from Tema come down and gave us a hazmat awareness and we are very grateful for them working this Saturday in for us. Then the instructor tables turned.

A man who come into the picture 10 years ago as EMA. A person who has never stopped calling me day or night asking what I needed, how can he help. A person who has filled every request we have put out in some form or fashion. Most of those going over the top. A man who has spent countless hours and money of his own making sure we had trainings, equipment, resources, and relationships!

Allen Strickland we can’t thank you enough for the past 10 years! Very honored are we to have gotten to work with you! Retirement is something not a lot of public service folks get to reach so we are beyond proud for you!

Enjoy yourself sir! We appreciate everything!

P.s. maybe this time phone rings it will be to say, hey , what’s for supper!

📚🚒 Back to School Blessings from the Michie Volunteer Fire Department 🚒📚

As a new school year begins, we want to lift up everyone heading back to school in our thoughts and prayers.

We are praying for:
🚌 Our bus drivers as they safely transport our children each day.
🍎 Our teachers and school staff as they invest their hearts into educating and encouraging the next generation.
🎒 Our students as they learn, grow, make new friends, and reach for their dreams.
❤️ And all of the parents and families sending their loved ones off each morning.

We hope this school year is filled with safety, success, kindness, and countless opportunities to learn and grow.

Have a wonderful school year, and remember to watch for stopped school buses, slow down in school zones, and help keep our children safe.

Join us TODAY from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Michie Volunteer Fire Department as we collect school supplies and shelf-stable, nonperishable food items for our local Backpack Ministry.
