Yesterday evening around 8:15pm we were dispatched to a commercial structure fire in the 11000 west block of 400 north. Once on scene we confirmed we had a block and steel constructed building with heavy flames on the D side(east) of building. We called for mutual aid for additional manpower and water shuttle operations. Units quickly deployed an interior team on the west end of building pushing towards the fire involved area and when MCFD arrived they deployed another suppression team to extend to the fire side of building. Fire was knocked down and overhaul operations took over and ultimately ended with the fire staying mostly contained to general area of origin. The fire is still under investigation.
We would like to say thank you to MCFD, Pines, and Westville for assistance on scene and as well as Springfield and Center for standing by readily available to deploy to scene. Mutual aid help is very much appreciated.
