This actually happened on our accident scene this morning. The individual did not stop at the road closure signs that state highway put up and tried driving right through our accident scene. please help us stay safe and obey traffic signs when they are out.

This sums up the week it has been around these parts…

The knucklehead operating this lovely colored pick ‘em truck was stopped this morning in the US 35 closure.

Apparently he thought it would be wise to drive around a set of barricades and roadway flowers, then drive on into the closed portion of US 35 where the fatal crash investigation was occurring.

After passing three marked vehicles, the truck was stopped.

The driver’s reason you ask, “…to work.” 🤨

Those plans quickly changed. He was issued citations for disregarding an official traffic control device, passing in a no passing zone, and expired license plates.

He walked to a nearby location where his new ride to work awaited…on the correct side of the barricades.

As for the banana flavored LaffyTaffy look-alike buggy, the ol’ beaut was impounded.

It’s that time! Mark your calendars and come help us out and visit for a while.

🚒 Training Night Recap 🚒

This month, our firefighters focused on keeping our dry hydrants in top working order and practiced essential skills in drafting and relay pumping.

These trainings help ensure that we can move water efficiently from static sources and maintain a steady supply when hydrants aren’t available — a vital part of protecting our community. 💧🔥

A big thanks to everyone who came out and put in the work. Strong skills today mean stronger responses tomorrow! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

🇺🇸 Thank You, Eagle Scout! 🇺🇸

Springfield Township Fire Department would like to thank Ivan Swartz from Troop 396 for his Eagle Scout project: building and donating a Flag Retirement Drop Box for our community.

This box is now located at the fire station and provides a respectful place to retire worn and weathered U.S. flags. We are proud to support this project and grateful for Ivan’s dedication to honoring our nation’s flag.

Great job, Ivan, and congratulations on your Eagle Scout achievement! 👏
