Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kleinmyer family. Rick was a huge part of Amana First Responders for 40 years and was a mentor to many emergency responders throughout his career. He will be dearly missed, but his impacts on the people around him will carry on.

View Rick Allen Kleinmeyer's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

It's EMS week this week and we would like to thank all of the EMS responders working tirelessly to serve Iowa County.

Did you know there are 6 volunteer first responder agencies based in the communities across Iowa County? We appreciate the willingness of these people to give some of their free time to help their communities. If you are interested in joining one of these first responder groups, feel free to get a hold of us, or the Iowa County EMS agency, and we can get you pointed in the right direction.

So wonderful seeing all of the friendly and familiar faces along the parade route today! It was the first chance we had to show off our new vehicle after getting it all setup and ready to roll.

Stay safe and enjoy the rest of Maifest!

Amana First Responders is an all volunteer emergency medical service which works closely with the Iowa County ambulance service. All of our members are certified and licensed to meet the requirements for the State of Iowa. We provide basic medical and lifesaving care in our community while the ambulance is dispatched from elsewhere in the county. Living in the communities we serve oftentimes means we are able to initiate care several minutes before the ambulance arrives.

We serve an area covering all 7 colonies and outlying rural areas. The boundaries are roughly the Benton/Iowa County line in the North, Johnson/Iowa County line to the East, 200th St. in the South, and R Ave. to the West.

Amana First Responders do not bill for our services when we respond to a call. We are funded through the generous donations of our community and receive no money from state, county or local taxes.
