📣 NSR911 Continues to Grow

Today marks another exciting step for North Shore Regional 911 as we officially begin providing emergency communications services for the Town of Boxford Police and Fire Departments.

As of this morning, all 9-1-1 calls, police and fire dispatching, and non-emergency communications for Boxford are now being handled by our team at NSR911.

Bringing a new community online takes far more than flipping a switch. Over the past several months, staff from NSR911, Boxford Police and Fire, State 911, and town leadership have worked closely together to ensure a smooth and successful transition. From policy review and system setup to training and field familiarization, countless hours have gone into preparing for today.

Our Telecommunicators have spent time learning Boxford’s roadways, landmarks, response plans, radio procedures, and community-specific operations to help ensure we are ready to provide the highest level of service possible from day one.

We are incredibly thankful to our staff for their professionalism, flexibility, and commitment throughout this process, and equally grateful to our partners in Boxford for the trust and collaboration they have shown every step of the way.

The State 911 Department traveled to Newton today to present the Newton MA Police Department Dispatch Center with a certificate of recognition for the teamwork and unity they displayed when one of their own lost everything in a structure fire while on shift. The team rallied around him and his family, ensuring that their immediate needs were met. Great teamwork Newton! The full story will be available in our May Newsletter!

Last week, members of the State 911 Department and the Massachusetts Equipment Distribution Program attended the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing's 40th anniversary ceremony, as well as the Early Connections Conference at the Perkins School for The Blind. These events gave the team the opportunity to educate the public on the Silent Call Procedure, Text-to-911, and the adaptive telephones available through the Massachusetts Equipment Distribution Program.
