Maintenance Planned Tomorrow on Veterans Memorial Bridge in the City of Sunbury, Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA – Bridge maintenance is planned tomorrow on the Veterans Memorial Bridge (Routes 61/147) in the City of Sunbury, Northumberland County.

On Tuesday, May 12, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) bridge crew will be replacing delineators followed by bridge cleaning. Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.

Bridge Repair Project on Reservoir Hill Road Begins Next Week in Washington Township, Snyder County

Montoursville, PA – A bridge repair project is set to begin next week on Reservoir Hill Road (Route 2003) in Washington Township, Snyder County.

Beginning Monday, May 4, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will begin repairs to the bridge that carries Reservoir Hill Road over Susquehecka Creek, just south of the Freeburg Carnival Grounds.

Work will take place each day between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed on Friday, May 22. The roadway will be open during the project with a stop condition, although brief closures may occur for concrete deliveries.

Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel and drive with caution in the area.

Bridge Maintenance Planned on Little Mexico Road Bridge in Jackson Township, Snyder County

Montoursville, PA – Bridge maintenance is planned next week on the Little Mexico Bridge (Little Mexico Road/Route 1013) in Jackson Township, Snyder County.

Between Wednesday, April 29 and Friday, May 1, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be cleaning the Little Mexico Bridge over Penns Creek. Drivers can expect single lane conditions with flagging between Benfer Drive and Crest Road. Work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, weather permitting.

Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution.

Bridge Maintenance Planned Next Week on Route 522 in Selinsgrove Borough, Snyder County

Montoursville, PA – Bridge maintenance is planned next week on Route 522 (North Susquehanna Trail) in Selinsgrove Borough, Snyder County.

Between Wednesday, April 29 and Friday, May 1, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be cleaning the green truss bridge that carries Route 522 (North Susquehanna Trail) over Penns Creek. Work includes bridge flushing and cleaning of the deck joints and bearings. Drivers can expect alternating lane restrictions between Market Street (Route 2017) and Airport Road (Route 1015) in Penn Township. Work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, weather permitting.

Traffic Signal Upgrade Starts Next Week on Routes 11/15 in Shamokin Dam Borough, Snyder County

Montoursville, PA – A traffic signal upgrade is planned to take place between Wednesday, April 22 and Wednesday, April 29 at the intersection of Routes 11/15 and Eleventh Avenue in Shamokin Dam, Snyder County. The contractor, C.M. High, Inc., will be installing the new traffic signal, which is part of the highway occupancy permit for the Royal Farms being constructed at this location.

Traffic Impacts
Wednesday, April 22
The new vertical uprights will be installed. Work will be performed in the shoulder area. There will be minimal impact to traffic during this process.

Thursday, Aprill 23
Between the hours of 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM, the horizontal mast arms will be installed over Routes 11/15. Drivers can expect alternating lane restrictions.
Daylight hours, the horizontal mast arms will be installed over Eleventh Avenue. Drivers can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed.

Friday, April 24 and Monday, April 27
Work will be performed on the mast arms in preparation for future activation.
Work will be performed in the shoulder areas of the intersection and the middle (turn) lane on Routes 11/15.
Drivers can expect the middle (turn) lane to be restricted on Routes 11/15 between Tenth Street and Monroe Street during daylight hours.

Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29
Remaining work will be performed on the new signals, which will be covered until the existing signals are deactivated and removed.
The existing traffic signals and corresponding support systems will be deactivated, removed, and the new traffic signals will be activated.

Bridge Replacement Project Continues at Intersection of Routes 522 and 235 in Spring Township, Snyder County

Montoursville, PA – A bridge replacement project continues on two bridges at the intersection of Routes 522 and 235 in Spring Township, Snyder County. The bridges carry each roadway over tributaries to Beaver Creek in Spring Township.

The week of April 20, the contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., will be performing shoulder work on Route 522 and Route 235 in relation to the construction of the temporary road. Drivers can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed.

Traffic Restrictions:

Route 522: A 10-foot width restriction will be in place on Route 522.
A 12-foot width restriction will be in place at a later date.

Route 235: A posted detour will be in effect on Route 235 for vehicles in excess of 30 feet long for the duration of the project, using Troxelville Road (Route 4018) and Route 104.

Bridge Maintenance Project Tomorrow on Route 61 in the City of Sunbury, Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA – A bridge maintenance project will take place tomorrow on both the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge and the Green Bridge (near Zimmerman Motors Dodge/Jeep) on Route 61 in the City of Sunbury, Northumberland County.

On Tuesday, April 14, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be performing bridge flushing and bridge inspections on both bridges. Drivers can expect single lane restrictions where work is taking place.

This project is expected to be completed in just one day, weather permitting. Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.

UPDATE: Route 522 is now open

Crash Closes Route 522 in Snyder County

Montoursville, PA – A vehicle crash has closed Route 522 in both directions between Paxtonville Road (Route 3008) in Beaver Township and Route 104 in Middleburg Borough, Franklin Township, Snyder County.

A detour using Paxtonville Road and Route 104 is in place. The roadway is expected to be closed for several hours. Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution.
