We have been busy serving the county, but would like to catch our audience up with a summer recap.

Snyder County President Judge, Lori Hackenberg, Judge Michael Piecuch, and the Snyder County Board of Commissioners, proudly joined communities across Pennsylvania in celebrating Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week, observed this year from July 20–26, 2025. This annual event, officially recognized by the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA), honors the dedicated professionals working in community corrections who help keep our neighborhoods safe and support individuals on the path to successful reintegration. The Snyder County Probation Department represents the very best of public service,” said President Judge Lori R. Hackenberg, “Their dedication to justice, rehabilitation, and community well-being makes a measurable difference every day.”

As part of this week, the Snyder County Probation Department is especially recognized for its tireless work within the community. Their officers go beyond supervision—they serve as mentors, counselors, and advocates, working with individuals to reduce recidivism and support successful reintegration into society. “These professionals are often the quiet force behind safer communities,” said, Chief Probation Officer, Colin Devanney. “They help individuals change their lives while also keeping our county safe.”

To officially recognize this vital work, the Snyder County Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation declaring the week of July 20–26, 2025 as Probation and Parole Week in Snyder County, Pennsylvania. The proclamation encourages all citizens to “recognize and honor the dedicated professionals who serve in community corrections and contribute to a safer, stronger community.”

Across the Commonwealth, counties held events and public acknowledgments to highlight the often-overlooked efforts of community corrections staff. These individuals serve not only as officers but also as mentors, social service liaisons, and advocates for positive change.

We thank our probation officers and staff for their hard work and dedication.
