Middleburgh Fire Chief Jerry Wayman and Assistant Chief Brian Devlin showed off the Middleburgh Fire Department's new 2025 Polaris 1500 at last evening's Joint Village and Town Board Meeting.

The UTV has a skid unit in the back that can be used to transport a patient and also holds 65 gallons of water with a pump for brush fires.

It was purchased through NYPA grants distributed by Schoharie County and membership funds raised via community support with no cost to local taxpayers.

*Village Small Business Loan Program Accepting Applications*

Available to any small business located in the Village of Middleburgh, the program offers five-year loans with one percent interest. Funds from the program can be used to purchase materials, expand offerings, or repair business space.

*June 16 Community Workshop Rescheduled*

The community workshop scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 as part of the new Strategic Plan for the Village of Middleburgh has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 6 PM-7:30 PM at the Library.

The Village is hosting community workshops where residents can share ideas, identify priorities, and help define actions for a new Strategic Plan that is going to be used to seek state and federal grant funding for local projects.

Workshops are open to everyone – residents, business owners, students, and neighbors.

In addition to the July 14 workshop, there is also another one scheduled on Saturday, July 11, 10 AM-11:30 AM at the Library.

*Conserve Water Request Rescinded - 6/5/2026*

We are rescinding our request for residences and businesses to conserve water as the Village DPW Crew identified and fixed the source of a major water line break on Lawyers Lane yesterday.

Many thanks are in order for our DPW Crew who fixed water line breaks on Chestnut Lane, Grover Street, and Lawyers Lane. We are also thankful to Nate of New York Rural Water Association, former DPW Superintendent Nicholas Dunscombe, and Shane Foland for assisting our crew.

*DPW Advisory: Grove Street Water Service Line Break Repaired, Road Reopened*

The Village Department of Public Works (DPW) has successfully repaired the water service line on Grove Street, and the street has been reopened. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.

Please be advised that Grove Street is open for local traffic only as of 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 4th, as the Village of Middleburgh Department of Public Works is fixing a water line break on that street. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.

*DPW Advisory: Chestnut Lane Water Line Break Repaired, Road Reopened*

The Village Department of Public Works (DPW) has successfully repaired the water main on Chestnut Lane and the street has been fully reopened. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.

Update (9:15): Water to Chestnut Lane has been reconnected upon repairing the water main.

Update (8:30 AM): Water to Chestnut Lane has been disconnected while repairs are underway.

Please be advised that Chestnut Lane is partially closed as of 8:00 AM on Thursday, June 4th, as the Village of Middleburgh Department of Public Works is fixing a major water line break on that street. The front and rear sections of the street can be accessed via vehicle while it remains fully open to pedestrian traffic. As posted previously, the Village of Middleburgh Water Department is requesting that all residents and businesses conserve water today.
