The Flying Tigers — the aerial drone and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team at PAHCC — invites students, parents, siblings, friends, and community members to kick off the 2026–2027 season with a live game reveal and watch party on Saturday, September 12.

The event will take place at PAHCC in Room A118. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with the global FTC season-opening game reveal broadcast starting at 12:00 p.m. Attendees will be among the first to see this year’s official challenge, outlining the specific tasks, obstacles, and engineering hurdles the team’s custom-built robots will face in competition.

All are welcome — whether you're a prospective team member (grades 6-12), a STEM enthusiast, or simply curious about hands-on robotics and drone engineering!

We'll have information on all our programs for high schoolers and adults, with options to apply on-site. We will also be auctioning off a classic 1969 Ford Thunderbird!

Ready to build professional welding skills?

PAHCC’s Professional Welding Development Program provides an academic year of hands-on instruction, individualized coaching, and structured skill development for people serious about entering or advancing in the welding field.

Beginning August 27, participants will train Thursday evenings in PAHCC’s welding lab. Each student will follow an Individual Learning Plan based on their experience, interests, and professional goals.

The program includes:

• 111 hours of hands-on lab training
• MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, and Stick welding
• Individualized instruction and competency evaluations
• Miller OpenBook online learning resources
• Opportunities to pursue industry-recognized welding qualifications
• Support developing the skills employers value

Program dates: August 27, 2026–June 10, 2027
Tuition: $4,495
Financial assistance may be available for qualified individuals.

This is professional training—not a recreational welding class. Whether you’re preparing to enter the field or ready to strengthen your existing skills, the program can be shaped around your goals.

Interested in a career in advanced manufacturing?

PAHCC’s new CNC Mill Operator Certification is designed for people who want to explore a new career as well as manufacturing employees ready to develop new skills. No previous CNC experience is required.

Beginning September 3, participants will receive 36 hours of hands-on, instructor-guided training using a Haas CNC mill. Over 12 Thursday evenings, you’ll learn the essential skills needed to safely set up and operate CNC milling equipment.

Game Art and Animation: a two-hour morning career program for recent graduates and young adults. Spend your mornings building skills in 3D art, animation, and game development—and keep your afternoons open for work.

PAHCC’s Game Art and Animation Program gives recent graduates and young adults hands-on experience with Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine. Create 3D models and game environments, explore visual storytelling, connect with industry professionals, and finish the year with a digital portfolio for college or career.

Interested in working with the machines used to manufacture precision parts?

PAHCC Adult Education is launching a new Professional CNC Mill Operator Certification program this fall. This training can help participants prepare for entry-level CNC machine operator and manufacturing positions—or strengthen the skills of employees already working in the industry.

Participants will complete the Haas Basic Mill Operator curriculum while gaining instructor-guided experience operating Haas CNC milling equipment.
