Today, the Middlebury Police Department proudly honors Peace Officers Memorial Day as we remember the brave law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We pay tribute to the courage, dedication, and selfless service of those who gave their lives protecting their communities and safeguarding others. Their commitment and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We also extend our gratitude to the men and women currently serving in law enforcement who continue to answer the call every day with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

🚴‍♀️ Greenway Safety Reminder from the Middlebury Police Department 🚴‍♂️

As warmer weather brings more people outdoors, we’d like to remind everyone enjoying the Middlebury Greenway to practice safe and courteous bicyclist / e-bike etiquette.

✅ Keep to the right and pass on the left
✅ Alert others when passing by saying “On your left!” or using a bell
✅ Slow down around walkers, children, and pets
✅ Yield to pedestrians at all times
✅ Ride single file when others are nearby
✅ Stay aware of your surroundings and avoid distractions
✅ Wear a helmet and follow all posted rules

The Greenway is a shared space for everyone to enjoy. A little courtesy goes a long way in keeping it safe and welcoming for all.
