Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, this highly competitive international program recognizes accomplished professionals and matches them with educational institutions in over 150 countries to collaborate on curriculum development, teacher training, and global engagement.

Dr. Chiappetta’s three-year appointment runs through 2029, offering a unique opportunity to share Region 15's commitment to global engagement with the world and bring inspiring international perspectives back home to our students.

🎓 Our PHS Class of 2026 seniors walked the halls of their former elementary schools today, greeted by the cheers and congratulations of current students and former teachers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this tradition so special for our seniors!

🎓 Graduation Ceremony: The Pomperaug High School Class of 2026 Graduation ceremony is scheduled for this Saturday, June 20th, at 10:00 AM.

This annual honor celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, academic achievement, service, and citizenship in their schools and communities.

As the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, Region 15 is proud to recognize 13 retirees whose combined 247 years of service have made a lasting impact on our students, families, schools, and community. Retirees were recognized at the June 8th Region 15 Board of Education meeting.

From classrooms and counseling offices to libraries, special education programs, and school operations, these dedicated professionals have helped generations of students learn, grow, and succeed. Their commitment, compassion, expertise, and care have shaped the Region 15 experience for countless children and families.

*** Early Dismissal Notice – Friday, June 12th - Middle and Elementary Schools ***

☀️ Due to the forecasted extreme heat and out of concern for the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff, all Region 15 ELEMENTARY and MIDDLE schools will operate on an early dismissal schedule on Friday, June 12, 2026.

📍 Early Dismissal Times:
• Middle Schools: 8:05 AM – 12:15 PM (Lunch Served)
• Elementary Schools: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Lunch Served)
• Preschool/Friends Together:
AM Session: 9:00 AM – 10:40 AM / PM Session: 10:45 AM – 1:00 PM

✅ BAS will remain open.

🎓 Pomperaug High School will follow its regular school day schedule, as the school operates on a separate bus schedule and is primarily air-conditioned.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our students and staff safe during the extreme heat.

🩺 Exploring Futures in Healthcare 🏥

Eleven PHS juniors and seniors spent the school year gaining firsthand experience in the healthcare field through the EdAdvance Regional Healthcare Shadowing Program.

From nursing and emergency medicine to diagnostic imaging, dermatology, orthopedics, neurology, pharmacy, and physician associate studies, students had the opportunity to observe healthcare professionals in real-world settings while participating in career exploration and professional development activities.

Throughout the program, students not only learned about healthcare careers, they learned about themselves. Many discovered new interests, confirmed career goals, gained confidence, and developed a deeper appreciation for the compassion, teamwork, and communication that are essential to patient care.

Congratulations to Kennedy B, Gabriella B, Ryan G, Ava L, AJ L, Lylah M, Lincoln M, Zackry M, Payton P, Brinley P, and Maggie S on successfully completing this valuable experience!
