Lions are active.

Our motto is "We Serve." Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities. Lions give sight. By conducting vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing medicine and raising awareness of eye disease, Lions work toward their mission of providing vision for all. We have extended our commitment to sight conservation through count

less local community projects and through our international SightFirst Program, which works to eradicate blindness. Lions serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs, including the Peace Poster Contest, Youth Camps and Exchange and Lions Quest. And our Leo Program provides personal development through youth volunteer opportunities. There are approximately 144,000 Leos and 5,700 Leo clubs in more than 140 countries worldwide. Lions award grants. Since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation has awarded more than US$700 million in grants to support Lions humanitarian community projects around the world. Together, our Foundation and Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies – and aiding in long-term reconstruction.

Please stop and visit a Middlebury Lions Club member tomorrow from 9-3 at the Middlebury Shaws, Hannafords, Midd. Co-op,
Gregs, and Kinney Drugs. If Bridport is easier for you, there will also be someone at Pratts Store. This is our annual Food From The Heart drive. All food and monetary contributions will be divided equally between local food shelves. They, and we, appreciate the generosity this community shows each year. Thank you!

We are thrilled to share that the Middlebury Department of Public Works DPW) has completed the much-needed shade deck at our kiddie pool-just in time for summer!
This improvement has been a priority for many families, and we're incredibly grateful to the Middlebury Lion's Club for their financial gift and, especially to our DPW team for their hard work, craftsmanship, and commitment to enhancing our community spaces. Their efforts will provide a safer, more comfortable environment for our youngest swimmers and their families to sunny days by the pool.
We're looking forward to opening the kiddie pool this summer and can't wait to see families making memories in this newly improved space.
Once again, thank you to the Middlebury Lion's club and to Midd's DPW, for another amazing job well done!

Thank you to Sheriff Elmore for speaking at our club meeting Monday night. Sheriff gave us updates in Addison County, what they’re currently working on and spoke about the rebranding of his department.

We also acknowledged one of our own! Lion Raymond Bapp for the last 8 years has been working to have a law passed for Vermonters with developmental disabilities to be eligible for FREE lifetime fishing licenses. As of January 2026, the law became official! Thanks to Raymond Bapp for his determination, what an accomplishment! Congratulations!!

Thanks to all who attended our July 23rd barbecue and/or auction. A big thank you, also, to those who donated to this year's auction. We couldn't have one without the items generously given to us from businesses and community members.
Here are a few photos from the evening and a video of Lion Tom Broughton starting off the night.

April was a busy month for our club. Besides our Food from the Heart event to benefit CVOEO and HOPE , we also collected diapers and wipes for the Parent Child Center. The food was delivered earlier in April and the delivery to the Parent Child Center was made today. Here are a few photos from both. As always, the club appreciates all who supported us in these endeavors.

The rainy day did not stop members of the Middlebury Lions club, and community volunteers, from greeting folks at local stores as we held our annual Food from the Heart campaign today. Thanks to all who were out shopping and took the time to stop by and donate food or money in support of this yearly event. HOPE and CVOEO will benefit from your generosity. Be on the lookout for members of the Middlebury Lions Club on Saturday, April 19th. Each year members of our club volunteer their time to collect food and cash donations for our “Food from the Heart” drive. Those donations are then divided between CVOEO and HOPE. Lions will be stationed in Middlebury from 9 - 3 at Greg’s, Hannaford, Shaws, Middlebury Food Co-Op, and Kinney Drugs. As always, we thank you for your generous support of the projects we do to try to help our community when we see a need. Hope to see you on
