FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Middlefield Police Department, in partnership with the Cardinal Local School District, is proud to announce that Lieutenant Graley has been appointed as our new D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) instructor.
Lieutenant Graley recently completed a rigorous, two-week (80-hour) D.A.R.E. Instructor Certification course, which prepares him to teach the nationally recognized prevention curriculum in our local schools.
In this role, Lieutenant Graley will be teaching age-appropriate lessons that go beyond drug abuse prevention; they focus on helping students in all grades (K-12) develop essential life skills, such as: Making safe and healthy choices. Recognizing and resisting peer pressure. Decision-making skills and personal safety. Conflict resolution and positive alternatives to substance abuse.
Lieutenant Graley was carefully selected for this position due to his excellent communication skills, ability to interact effectively with children, and commitment to serving as an exemplary role model. This program provides a unique opportunity for law enforcement to build meaningful, positive connections with students during their formative years.
“We are thrilled to have Lieutenant Graley take on this vital role. His dedication to our community's youth will make a lasting impact by equipping students with the tools they need to make positive choices," said Police Chief Joe Tucholski.
You can expect to see Lieutenant Graley not only in the classroom but also interacting with students informally during lunch or recess, fostering a strong, positive relationship between law enforcement and our youth.
Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Graley on this new chapter and his commitment to shaping safe, healthy futures for our community's youth.
