Tomorrow the center will be closed. Please get out and enjoy Senior Day at the Meigs County Fair. We have sponsored drinks and snacks for the seniors 60 and older. So make sure to get yours when you visit. See you Friday back at the Center.

The Summer Crisis Program assistance is available for eligible Ohioans facing challenges due to summer heat. The benefit is available July 1-September 30. Customers of regulated utility companies may receive up to $500, while those with unregulated (electric cooperatives and municipal electric systems) may be eligible for up to $800. These benefits can be used to help cover the cost of electric bills this summer. Customers may also be eligible for assistance with central air conditioning repairs or the purchase of a window AC unit or fan.



The program is available to households at or below 175% of the federal income guideline and must also meet ONE of the following three requirements:

1. A household member is 60 or older; OR
2. A member of the household has a medical necessary condition certified by a qualified medical professional; OR
3. The household has an electricity disconnection notice, has been shut off, or new electric service is being established.


For additional information or to apply, customers should contact their local Energy Assistance Provider/Community Action Agency for an appointment.
