Sometimes the best views aren’t the big overlooks or sweeping mountain vistas. Sometimes it’s simply the morning sun finding its way through the trees.

Just another quiet reminder of how much natural beauty surrounds us here in Middlesboro. 🌿

☄️ ** DID YOU KNOW? Middlesboro is one of a kind. **

You may already know that Middlesboro was built inside a meteorite impact crater, but did you know Middlesboro is the only confirmed city in the United States built within one?

That makes the landscape we see every day more than just a beautiful mountain setting. It gives Middlesboro a geological distinction that no other confirmed U.S. city can claim.

Millions of years after the impact that shaped the Middlesboro Basin, a city grew right in the middle of it.

📍 ** One crater. One city. Only in Middlesboro. **

🍂 Is anyone else ready for this view?

Summer still has a few weeks left, but we're already looking forward to crisp mornings, cooler temperatures, and the beautiful fall colors that transform Middlesboro each year.

The first official day of fall is still a month away, but scenes like this have us counting down a little early. 🍁

This favorite, captured by photographer Danny Vaughn, is a perfect reminder that there’s just something special about fall in the mountains. ❤️

💡 Did You Know?

A college education , and views like these, are available right here in Middlesboro. 🎓⛰️

Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College's Middlesboro campus gives students the opportunity to earn a degree, prepare for a new career, build new skills, or take the next step toward a four-year degree, all without having to go far from home.

As fall classes get underway this week, we're reminded what an incredible asset it is to have access to post-secondary education right here in our community.

📚 Interested in learning more? The Middlesboro campus is hosting an Open House today!

We're proud to have SKCTC in Middlesboro and proud of the students choosing to build their futures right here at home. ❤️
