Heads up everyone! Changes are coming!

First, the bad news: Middlesboro-Bell County Public Library is CLOSED beginning Monday, July 27th 2020. But here's the GREAT news -- we're closing to begin a renovation project that will make your library better for you!

While we will be closed to the public for the next few weeks, we will be open intermittently, as construction allows, for curbside service. In the meantime, if you need books, copies, faxes or to use a public computer, please call our Pineville-Bell County Public Library at 606-337-3422 to make an appointment. Keep watching our page for information about our renovation, pictures of our progress, ways to use our online collections while we are closed, and information about days when we will be open for curbside service.

Read about how the library will be reopening to the public...

We're getting all the final safety precautions in place, and we will be so glad to see you all!

But although we'll be opening next week, our libraries won't look or operate exactly as they did before.

Our hours will be limited for awhile to give us time to sanitize. We'll be open Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm. From 9am-10am, we will be open for patrons who are more at risk of infection. We ask that all other patrons plan their visits for after 10am.

Library staff will be wearing masks in order to keep you safe.

A limited number of patrons are allowed in the buildings at once to help us maintain social distancing within our facilities. This means that we must restrict patron visits to 45 minutes. We ask you to be patient, as there may occasionally be times when we've reached capacity.

Computer use will be BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. This allows us to maintain social distancing, and also allows us to thoroughly sanitize computer areas between uses.

CURBSIDE SERVICE WILL CONTINUE! If you're not sure you're ready to brave the new normal yet, we're more than
happy to bring your books, DVDs, copies and faxes out to you!

WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!

The libraries may be closed, but our Digital Library at www.bellcpl.org is still open, and your number of checkouts on two of our most popular services has been increased!

For Overdrive, that means you have 15 CONCURRENT checkouts -- go ahead, check out 15 ebooks, audiobooks or videos, or any combination of all!
https://kyunbound.overdrive.com/

On our ALWAYS AVAILABLE collection at Hoopla, you now have 8 checkouts for the month rather than 4.

Still haven't used Overdrive or Hoopla? Here are the links to the Help pages, or you can call either library to get help from a staff person.

This might be interesting and helpful to Adults, Teens, and children for dealing with the separation, isolation, and anxiety we might be feeling as we help curb the COVID-19 pandemic by staying at home.

Tomorrow, WEDNESDAY, April 1, 2020 at 11:15 a.m. on the "Youth Services at the PIneville-Bell County Public Library" page.

Please join us tomorrow for a live interview with Brittney Saylor!

Book club and library friends; parents and grandparents - did you know our Children's Librarian, Ms. Megan is providing this service each weekday? It will be live at 11, but she also says it will be available until 12 noon if you miss it live! My grandchildren in TX have enjoyed listening to her.

Join us live at 11am for our Toddler/PreK/Kindergarten story time. Can’t watch live? No problem. It will be available from 11-12 on our page.

UPDATE: From Director Jeanna Cornett: ALL LIBRARY PROGRAMS are cancelled UNTIL APRIL 13, 2020.

SO, this will include not only TTT, but also the Painting Class on Wed., March 18, MONDAYS R MURDER book club on April 6, and the CROCK-POT class on the 6th also. Thank you for your continued support of our library programs - we appreciate you so much!

ATTENTION TIME FOR TEA & THEE members: We are CANCELLING our meeting on TUESDAY, MARCH 17, due to the current health concerns. We love you too much to put anyone at risk - it is best to err on the side of caution. The book we were going to discuss, "Send Down the Rain", is too good to NOT discuss! We don't know what April will bring, so we could discuss it at that meeting as well - we'll see. Wouldn't it be cool to do some type of live discussion with all of you chiming in by typing?!! ANYWAY, stay home next Tuesday!
PLEASE pass this on to those not on Facebook - thank you! I will be calling them as well.
