Part of our job is to inspect local businesses to reduce the risk of fire hazards in accordance with local and state regulations. It also gives us an opportunity to pre plan in the event that there is a fire in a local business. Along the way we get to meet members of our community and establish working relationships. Sometimes we come across some really cool things too like Peanut, the mascot at Tractor Supply.

Another sneak peek and fun fact!

When put into service the new Tanker-57 will have 3000 gallons of water on board.

We carry this water to areas of Monroe Township that don’t have city water service or fire hydrants. Tanker-57 is also part of mutual aid tanker task forces in Middlesex, Monmouth, and Mercer Counties for larger incidents.

This morning members of EMFAS, and WMEMS, responded along side of multiple fire departments for a reported fire in a warehouse. Fire chiefs arrived and transmitted the first alarm for a working structure fire. EMS units arrived on location and requested an additional ambulance to assist with rehab for our fire fighters. Thankfully our services were not needed and the situation resolved safely.

This afternoon, all township fire companies were alerted for a working structure fire in our first due area. Crews arrived with heavy fire showing from the alpha side of the structure. Crews from Squad 51 and Engine 5 made a transitional attack due to the intensity of the fire, while Tower 51 took the front of the house with Ladder 23 in the driveway. All firefighters did a great job, and made a quick knock on the fire. We would like to thank Monroe Township Fire District #2, Monroe Township Fire District 3, Monroe Professional Firefighters I.A.F.F Local 3170 , Monroe Twp.
