The Middlesex Fire Department is proud to announce the purchase of a new-to-us ladder truck, a 1994 Seagrave Patriot 100-foot rear-mount aerial, marking a major step forward in our commitment to protecting and serving our growing community.
As Middlesex continues to see an increase in call volume, along with new commercial development and a steadily rising population, it has become essential to expand our capabilities. This new aerial apparatus allows us to better meet those demands and provide a higher level of service when it matters most.
A ladder truck brings a wide range of advantages to emergency response. With its elevated master stream, we can deliver large volumes of water from above—especially critical during commercial structure fires. The 100-foot aerial ladder also gives firefighters safer and more effective access to rooftops, upper floors, and hard-to-reach areas, improving rescue operations and ventilation efforts. In addition, the truck carries specialized tools and equipment that enhance our ability to handle a variety of emergencies, from fires to technical rescues.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the West York Fire Department in Pennsylvania for allowing us to purchase this apparatus and bring it to Middlesex.
This investment is about more than just a new truck—it’s about preparing for the future, supporting our firefighters, and ensuring the safety of everyone who lives, works, and visits our community.
The truck will be placed in service on September 1, 2026.
We’re proud to continue moving forward and growing alongside Middlesex.
