Pastor Jeremiah and Calvary Middleton showed up big this morning! Lunchboxes, snacks, lunch meat, cheese and back-to-school bags. Absolutely amazing and we thank you!

This is the volunteer team on week two. Don’t tell them, but we think they’re kind of a big deal. 💕

Thank you to Ridley’s Middleton and GM Shane for hosting our back-to-school food drive. It was a great success. We received 30 crates of food and enough cash donations to buy the remaining items on the list. We are so grateful for this amazing community.

Stories from the Shelf

Some days, it feels like everything is working against us.

The building we call home is old and in disrepair. It has no air conditioning, and the 40-year-old walk-in cooler has been hanging on by sheer determination. We’ve been grateful that it has lasted this long.

Then came Sunday. It was 102 degrees outside.

After working overtime through the heat, the walk-in finally decided it had enough and quit. Thankfully, it happened the day after our Saturday distribution, so it was empty. But Tuesday deliveries were just around the corner, and we had no idea how we were going to make it work.

Moments like these can be discouraging. We wonder how much longer we can keep patching things together.

Then something remarkable happened. A man we’d never met before walked into the pantry carrying a check for $1,000. We still don’t know who told him about us or what inspired him to come that day. He simply handed us the donation and went on his way. Sometimes you don’t get the answers—you just receive the blessing.

In that moment, we were reminded that even on the hardest days, we’re not doing this alone. Just when we begin to wonder how we’ll make it through, someone shows up to remind us that this community believes in what we’re doing.

The walk-in cooler was eventually repaired. But the greater gift that day wasn’t just the donation—it was the reminder that hope has a way of walking through the front door exactly when it’s needed most.

Thank you to the people who quietly make miracles happen. You remind us why we keep going.
