🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT: Lisa Lane Closure | Sept. 8–11

Heads up if you travel through the Parmenter Street area: Lisa Lane will be closed at Parmenter Street from Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11, for construction at 3202 Parmenter Street. The approved traffic control plan shows the closure at Lisa Lane's east end.

A signed detour will direct traffic from Lisa Lane to Laura Lane, Donna Drive, and Parmenter Street.

⚠️ Please watch for road closure and detour signs, allow a little extra time, and use caution around the work area.

🗑️♻️ Labor Day Trash & Recycling Reminder

There will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday, September 7, due to the Labor Day holiday.

Collection will be delayed one day for the entire week:

Monday → Tuesday
Tuesday → Wednesday
Wednesday → Thursday
Thursday → Friday
Friday → Saturday

If your normal collection day is Friday, your carts will be picked up on Saturday, September 12.

Collection times may also vary, so please have your carts out and ready for pickup as usual.

🚲 Help shape the future of Elmwood Avenue.

The City of Middleton is seeking additional community feedback on potential traffic safety improvements along Elmwood Avenue between Parmenter Street and Park Street.

Ideas under consideration include:

• Dedicated bike lanes in both directions
• Changes to on-street parking
• Traffic circles at Middleton and Bristol streets
• Speed humps near the pedestrian crossing
• Flashing pedestrian beacons at Park Street

Nothing has been approved for construction. Community feedback will help the City develop its final recommendations—and you do not need to have attended the August public meeting to participate.

💧 A heads-up for Middleton residents and businesses: fall hydrant flushing is happening a little earlier this year.

The Water Utility will conduct nighttime flushing:
• September 28–October 1
• October 6–9

The earlier schedule lets crews temporarily take one of the City’s wells offline to complete construction work.

Please keep these dates in mind as you plan ahead. We’ll share reminders as flushing approaches!
