Earlier this month, an adventurous crew joined us for "Autumn Foraging," part of Everyday Adventures. The group was guided by the knowledgeable Vince Aiello with Fire and Foraging. The crew enjoyed camaraderie, a gorgeous day at Indian Lake County Park, and gained more knowledge about wild food.

One attendee shared, "The walk through beautiful fall foliage while learning the benefits of the plants around us was something so special, I wish I could do it every day."

Another shared, "So much fun! A beautiful day, beautiful company and Vince was crazy full of interesting information!"

Thank you for everyone who joined us for Autumn Foraging! And a huge thank you to Vince for once again sharing your knowledge with us!

What a remarkable Rainforest-themed celebration! We extend our sincere gratitude to Arden Property Group for transforming our clubhouse into a lush oasis last week. With the assistance of 26 dedicated volunteers, they created a vibrant atmosphere, complete with a grass hut, vines, and inflatable animals. Their efforts resulted in an unforgettable experience for 43 guests, making it a truly exceptional event. 🎉🌴

We are incredibly grateful to the Dane County Board of Supervisors for recognizing the importance of breast cancer awareness, early detection, and the critical role of community support for those impacted by cancer.

A special thank you for the opportunity to have our very own Kathleen O’Connell, Program Director at Gilda’s Club Wisconsin, speak in support of this meaningful resolution and share more about our mission.

We also want to share a special thank you to Supervisor Amy Larson for being an incredible ambassador for Gilda’s mission and for sharing her deep understanding of the importance of cancer support.

At Gilda’s Club Wisconsin, we believe no one should face cancer alone. Every day, we are honored to provide emotional support, education, and connection to individuals and families navigating cancer, all at no cost to them thanks to our generous donors and supporters.

Thank you, Dane County Board of Supervisors, for shining a light on the need for early detection and education, this important cause, and recognizing the work we do to ensure individuals and families facing cancer have the resources, compassion, and community they deserve. ❤️

Next up in our Staff Pets Series, meet Trooper! Trooper belongs to Taylor Retondo, Director of Events!

Name of pet - Trooper

Age- 14, but still a spry lil guy!

Favorite pastime- Napping as close as possible to me, eating grass that he shouldn't, boat and car rides, chasing squirrels, begging for human food

A fun fact about them- Ever since he was a puppy, he creeps up to his water bowl like he is stalking his prey. He moves SO slowly, paws ever so slightly touching the floor, until he reaches the water to drink finally. He doesnt stalk his food, only his water. He also likes riding on the cart at my apartment when I bring in groceries. His best friend's name is Kenny and they have matching pajamas. He truly is a girl's best friend. He's my favorite weirdo!

Last night, Gilda's clubhouse was filled with forest creatures, little superheroes, a Monarch butterfly, Pokemon, and more...it must be Noogiefest! Our annual Halloween social was a blast.

This year's theme was the rainforest, and the games, decor, and crafts all fit that theme, along with many of the costumes! There was an obstacle course, rainforest slime, rock painting, make-your-own clay creatures, fishing, Pokemon, and so much more.

This event was free and open to the public, thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Levy Giving Fund. They also provided some extra-special Disney magic, much to the delight of the attendees!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made last night possible. In addition, we want to thank:

-Edgewood University's Child Life Association for the incredible games and crafts

Join us for our first ever Harvest Dinner at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026 at Gilda's Club.

This event is a chance to gather with friends, family, and fellow members to celebrate the end of the harvest season with great food, conversation, and tabletop activities. This meal has been generously provided by our friends at Certco and Gilda's Club volunteers. It will include turkey, a full medley of seasonal sides, a vegetarian option, and dessert.

Bring yourself, your guests, and a good appetite! Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.
