The Clean Sweep of the Great Miami River returns Saturday, September 19, 2026, inviting volunteers of all ages to help remove trash and restore the health of the river. This community-wide cleanup is a great way for residents to demonstrate their desire for clean water and healthy rivers.

The first Clean Sweep was held in Dayton in 1986, and officially began in Butler, Hamilton, and Warren Counties in 2005. Since then, thousands of tires and hundreds of tons of trash have been removed from the river. Along with the usual fast food trash, we have removed bowling balls, mannequins, and too many tvs to count.

NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING:
The Madison Township Board of Trustees will hold a Special Meeting on Monday, August 24th, at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will be held at our Administration building located at 5610 West Alexandria Road, Middletown, Ohio 45042.
The purpose of this meeting is to enter Executive Session pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 121.22(G)(8)(b), followed by a vote on the Trenton annexation.
This meeting is open to the public.

UPDATE: THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED AND POWER IS RESTORED.

FYI Madison Township, Butler County, OH residents:
There is a downed tree at 4538 Trenton Franklin Rd, and with it are power lines and a damaged pole, causing residents to be without power. Duke Energy has been notified and will be working to resolve this issue- hopefully later tonight.

The road is already closed as it is at the south end of our Trenton Franklin Rd widening project.
