Today, the Town of Wallkill Police Department participated in a “Buckle Up New York – Click It or Ticket” traffic enforcement detail alongside our partners from the New York State Police and Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Seat belt enforcement remains a priority, and we will continue to actively enforce violations related to seat belt use and child restraint compliance to help keep our roadways safe.

Good afternoon Town of Wallkill residents and businesses; on Saturday, May 16, 2026 the Orange County Fair Speedway will be hosting the car show/burnout event on their property. As result of this event following roadways may see increased traffic as result: Route 211, East Main Street, Carpenter Avenue, Wisner Avenue and Schutt Road. We ask residents and businesses to plan for the possibility of increased traffic in the area of the Orange County Fair Speedway for much of the day Saturday.

The Town of Wallkill Police Department proudly congratulates Sergeant Michael Rinaldo on receiving the 2025 Officer of the Year Award presented by the Town of Wallkill Police Community Council.

Sergeant Rinaldo was recognized for his leadership and vision in spearheading the partnership between the Town of Wallkill Police Department and the Orange County Mental Health Mobile Response Team (MRT). Since launching in July 2023, the MRT program has responded to or assisted with over 1,200 calls for service, helping connect individuals in crisis with critical support and resources while improving outcomes for the community.

Sergeant Rinaldo’s dedication, innovation, and commitment to serving the residents of the Town of Wallkill continue to make a lasting impact both within the department and throughout the community.

Congratulations, Sergeant Rinaldo, on this well-deserved recognition.
