There's art all around us! The Gilead artists from the Middletown Social Club enjoyed a field trip to the New Britain Museum of American Art. Our artists took in the beauty of the paintings, sculptures, and photographs - possibly finding inspiration for their own work! Thank you to board members Suzanne, Mike, and Karen for accompanying our artists and experiencing first-hand what it means to be part of our Gilead community.

Pieces by these artists are still on display at the Middletown Outpatient Clinic (230 Main Street Ext, Middletown). Stop by and enjoy the gallery!

Happy Pride Month! As we welcome a month that is marked by celebrations of acceptance and individuality, we can learn from and reflect on the origins of Pride Month. We remember and acknowledge that Pride celebrations would not exist without the LGBTQ+ community’s fights for justice for all 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Gilead is excited to participate in Middletown Pride again this year on Saturday, June 6th. Stop by our table to learn more about our community programs and get some swag.

We are thankful to serve a community that has the largest Pride celebration in the state! We hope to see you on Saturday!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

This month, Gilead is highlighting J.S. for Matching Campaign. During her time at Gilead, she has found the support and strength to go back to school for a master’s degree and publish a memoir. As she prepares for graduation, she is planning on finding her own apartment, continuing her recovery, and beginning herjob search. Her long-term goal is to teach forensic psychology at the university level.

Her story is uplifting not only because of her strength, but because of the work that staff do behind the scenes to make achievements like these possible.

Your donations to Gilead this month go twice as far! Consider honoring Gilead's staff and clients like J.S. this month with a donation - your gift will be matched dollar for dollar: https://gileadcs.org/donate-matching-campaign/

This is what it looks like when we stand together 💙

Gilead Community Services joined our fellow nonprofits, advocates, leaders, and community members to show our support for the essential services that our state's nonprofits provide. Thank you to Gilead staff, leadership, clients, and board members for showing up at the State Capitol to advocate for funding, resources, and support.

This solidarity sends a message: our work matters, our people matter, we matter. Thank you for standing with us.
