The MRTC congratulates Amy Chai and Chris Lancia on their successful endorsement victories at the CTGOP Convention for Connecticut’s 1st and 3rd Congressional Districts.

The 1st Congressional District includes communities such as Hartford, Bristol, Southington, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Cromwell, Portland, and parts of Middletown. The 3rd Congressional District includes Middletown, Durham, Middlefield, New Haven, Milford, Stratford, Shelton, Seymour, and surrounding communities.

Now the real work begins. Elections are won through organization, communication, volunteer effort, and voter turnout.

The MRTC encourages Republican Town Committees across both districts to work together in strengthening campaign support, volunteer coordination, voter outreach, and strong get-out-the-vote operations heading into November.

Please reach out so we can bring real multi-municipal strength, coordination, and grassroots energy to our campaign efforts and get-out-the-vote plans.

Competitive government matters. Connecticut families deserve real debate, accountability, and representation — and that only happens when voters are engaged and campaigns are supported at the grassroots level.

Erin Stewart announced on May 14, 2026 that she is suspending her campaign for Governor of Connecticut, effective immediately.

Her decision came after the release of an investigative report alleging extensive misuse of a city‑issued credit card during her tenure as Mayor of New Britain. The report detailed more than $200,000 in charges over several years, including many purchases lacking documentation.

Stewart said she is taking the allegations seriously, intends to review the documents, and will make full restitution for anything she owes.

State police have also confirmed an investigation is underway.

Thank you to everyone who came out last night for our successful fundraiser at Mezzo Grille!

It was a great night of conversation, networking, and hearing from Republican candidates about the future of Connecticut and Middletown. We were honored to hear from gubernatorial candidate Ryan Fazio for Governor, lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Matt Corey CT, Secretary of the State candidate Peter Lumaj, and U.S. House candidate Christopher Lancia. MC'd by new Chairman Adam Hayn.

The Middletown Republicans are presenting a sharp contrast to the Democratic Party in Middletown. Our Republican members of Middletown's Common Council have released a no tax increase budget proposal. That stands in sharp contrast to the 1.6 mill rate increase being pushed onto residents who are already struggling to afford the costs they currently face.

Families across Middletown are feeling the pressure of rising prices, higher utility bills, and increasing costs everywhere they turn. The answer cannot continue to be asking taxpayers to pay even more.

Republicans are here, and we are not going anywhere. But we need your help. We need your votes. We need you to talk to your friends about us. We need you to bring back the buddy system to the polling station and help bring others out to vote.

We also need more involvement in our Town Committee. If you care about the direction of Middletown and Connecticut, now is the time to get involved.

Middletown residents deserve responsible budgeting, accountability, and leadership that understands people are already stretched thin.
