Wednesday was a busy night for the Leonardo First Aid & Rescue Squad duty crew. During the 5-10 PM shift, they handled five emergency calls, including a four-car crash on Rt. 36.

The accident required three people to be transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Leonardo team members worked alongside colleagues from Port Monmouth First Aid Squad and Lincroft First Aid & Rescue Squad at the crash scene, according to Leonardo Captain Danny Buchsbaum who served as the EMS command on scene.

The overnight crew also responded to two calls.

As we kick off the annual EMS Week, we’d like to take a moment to thank the women and men of Leonardo First Aid & Rescue Squad who volunteer their time to help others. They willingly give up time with their families and loved ones, to help make our world a better place.

Fifty years ago, this week was set aside to celebrate the work of EMS professionals around the country and right here at home. We like to celebrate their tremendous work every day.

Thank you to every one of our members.
