What an honor it was to attend the Field of Flags ceremony this morning at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Seeing 5,000 American flags proudly displayed in remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms was both humbling and deeply moving.
Each flag represents a life, a family, and a sacrifice that must never be forgotten. These heroes gave everything for the freedoms we cherish, and we owe them a debt that we can never fully repay.
A heartfelt thank you to Westminster Presbyterian Church, and especially to Dave D’Arcy, for organizing and continuing this beautiful and meaningful tribute. Your dedication ensures that we pause to remember, reflect, and honor those who gave their lives for our great nation. Thank you also for the beautiful flowers and your kind words. It was incredibly thoughtful of you to think of me.

Yesterday, the Middletown Township Police Department was made aware of concerning social media posts made by a resident referencing New Monmouth Elementary School.

Our police officers acted immediately, quickly identifying and locating the individual.

While I am unable to share specific details regarding this matter, I want to reassure our residents, parents, and school community that, as a result of the swift and decisive actions of the Middletown Township Police Department, there is no ongoing threat to New Monmouth Elementary School or the public.

We have been in direct communication with Interim Superintendent Kevin Cullen and school officials to ensure a coordinated response. We have taken, and will continue to take, all necessary and appropriate actions regarding this incident.

The safety and security of our children, our schools, and our community will always be our highest priority. I want to thank the men and women of the Middletown Township Police Department for their immediate response and professionalism in handling this situation.

We will continue working closely with our school district partners and provide additional information as appropriate.

It was an honor to accept the proclamation on behalf of the Middletown Alliance along with Alliance Coordinator Erika McKee in recognizing October as Substance Misuse Prevention Month.
Middletown is committed to educating and empowering our residents, especially our young people about the importance of making healthy choices and understanding the dangers of substance misuse.
One of the programs I am especially proud of is our Alliance Leaders program, an eight week after school leadership and prevention program that works in partnership with our police department. Each year, we are proud to graduate upwards of 500 students, giving them the knowledge, confidence, leadership skills, and tools they need to make positive choices and become leaders among their peers.
As Chairperson of the Middletown Alliance, and as a volunteer for the past 14 years, it is truly an honor to be part of an organization so dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our children, families, and entire community.

Wonderful to have Nishan Patel at town hall to celebrate his amazing achievement! Congratulations! 🎉🎊

At last week’s Township Committee meeting, Nishan Patel was recognized for his remarkable achievements and his incredible accomplishment of completing the Grandma’s Marathon! 🇺🇸🏅

This achievement was two years in the making, requiring tremendous dedication, preparation, and countless hours of training.

Nishan made history by completing a full marathon in a wheelchair using just one arm, achieving an incredible record along the way. His determination, perseverance, and commitment are truly inspiring!

Congratulations, Nishan, on this extraordinary accomplishment! We are so proud to celebrate you! 👏🎉🇺🇸

Saturday, the Middletown PBA 124 hosted their 9/11 5K Run/Walk. The event holds special meaning as proceeds benefit the Detective Joseph Capriotti Scholarship Fund, honoring the life and legacy of Middletown Detective Joseph Capriotti. September 11th forever changed our community and we will never forget the names, the lives, the families, of our 37 residents we lost. Their memories remain woven into the fabric of Middletown, and year after year, generation after generation, we will continue to honor them. Thank you to all of our Middletown police officers and first responders for their unwavering dedication, courage, and commitment to protecting and serving our community every single day. Your service does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do for Middletown and its residents. 🙏🏻🇺🇸
