At 18:22 hours Middletown FD was dispatched to a one car MVA car into a porch. Units responded and found one patient in the car with no entrapment. Middletown PD and Empress were on scene with Building Inspector.

Due to a large amount of returned postage from invitations mailed to fire departments, the City of Middletown Fire Department has extended parade registration for our 2026 Triennial Parade until June 1, 2026!

We've had a great response so far, making this one of the largest parades we've hosted in many years! If your department has not yet signed up, there’s still time to join us for what promises to be an incredible day celebrating the fire service and tradition on October 10, 2026.

It’s with deep regret and sadness that we the Board of Officers and Members announced the pasting of 52 year member, Past Captain and Past Duty Chief Edward L Waizenegger Jr. May HYPE rest in peace.

Funeral arrangements are still ongoing and will be announced soon. Please keep Eddie’s family and friends and Firefighters in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The Middletown FD welcomes 5 members to the career staff. Left to right are: Nick Lafaciano, Chris Fratto, Bryce Huepler, Matt Lamendola and Matt Guattery. The candidates will start the NYS Fire Academy in early February. Welcome aboard !

In 2025 the Middletown FD responded to 1,191 alarms. The alarms consisted of structural fires, automatic alarms, motor vehicle accidents, rescue calls, service call, mutual aid, carbon monoxide call, odor of gas or gas leak, smoke detector call, false alarms, outside or brush fires, reported smoke in the area, public assistance, EMS assistance , good intent call and others.
