Lower Swatara Volunteer Fire Department is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to protecting the citizens of Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County as well as mutual aid to surrounding areas.

Weather finally allowed the Blue Angels to fly part of their show today. Engine and Rescue 59 stood-by in the lower half of the township due to the increased traffic with spectators. Boat 59 with a crew was on the river covering our first due area for any river emergencies during the show.

Hall Rentals:
• 2,970 Square Foot Banquet Hall with Stage
• Podium
• Complete Audio/Visual System including Bluetooth, HDMI, Computer, and Microphone Capabilities
• 5 Televisions located around the hall
• Overhead Protector with Large Ceiling Mounted Projection Screen

The Hall provides space for up to 200 people. Depending on your preference, the facility can be set up with either long or round tables, and chairs.

After a long wait, the replacement for Engine 59 has finally arrived in the Twp. Members will now work on getting tools mounted, radios installed and driver familiarization before going into service. Thank You to Cyle Sheaffer and Glick Fire Equipment Company for helping us build another great piece of apparatus for our Township.

Tanker 59 along with Squad 55 are currently transferred to Dauphin - Middle Paxton Fire Company while they work a 1st alarm fire in their district.

Company 59 just cleared a reported structure fire in the 800 blk of Oberlin Rd. Units arrived to find heavy smoke from the chimney as a result of a furnace malfunction. Incident was scaled back while units secured the furnace and cleared the smoke.

Rescue 59 is currently transferred to Harrisburg City station 2 while units work a 2nd alarm structure fire in the Hill District of the city.

Today Tanker 59 with a crew of 3 went to Dauphin Fire Co Sta 38 for a standby while their members attended a funeral. During that time, Tanker 59 responded to an MVA with Entrapment. Crew stood by for fire suppression during extrication efforts.
