The Downtown Middletown BID

The Downtown Middletown BID The Downtown Middletown Business Improvement District has been in existence since 1992. Our #1 mission is to put "feet on the street".

A BID is a special assessment district. It is funded by the property owners within the district. This mission is spelled out in a district plan that calls for programs that enhance beautification, safety, sanitation, and promotion. The Middletown BID encompasses the entire central business district of the City of Middletown. It contains over 225 property Parcells. The day to day activities are car

A Great Day Celebrating Our Middletown Community!

Mayor Joseph M. DeStefano was proud to spend the day supporting several wonderful events taking place throughout the City of Middletown!

Middletown Thrall Library’s 125th Anniversary Celebration — Congratulations to Thrall Library on an incredible 125 years of serving, educating, and connecting generations of Middletown residents!

Second Baptist Church Back-to-School Giveaway & Block Party — A great community event helping local students and families get ready for a successful school year while bringing neighbors together for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

Middletown YMCA’s End of Summer Community Celebration — A wonderful way to close out the summer with families, friends, and community members coming together to celebrate!

The Trolley Car Barn at Mechanicstown 🚋

The Trolley Car Barn at Mechanicstown served as an important part of the region’s transportation history, providing a place where trolley cars were stored, maintained, and prepared for service along the local rail lines.

This historic photograph offers a glimpse into the era when streetcars connected communities throughout Orange County, carrying passengers and helping shape the growth of towns like Middletown and the surrounding areas. The car barn stands as a reminder of the people, places, and infrastructure that powered everyday life during the trolley era.
