Good morning Portland! So Paulie's Push and his team are meeting in a few minutes at the intersection of Route 16 and 66 in the Cheers Parking lot where they'll start their walk to Firehouse 1 on Main Street. He'll start by following Route 66 and then detour around the ledges portion of Route 66 for safety reasons and then get back on Route 66 via Middle haddam Road at the Wi******er Cafe. He'll continue on to the end of 66 and then take a right onto Main Street.
He will be escorted by one of our police officers as well as one of our Public Works trucks And there will be a number of walkers and pushers with him throughout the morning.
It's about a 6 mile walk from where he's starting so he should make it to Main Street by 1:00 p.m. I'll post updates throughout the morning.
If you get a chance to stop by Main Street this afternoon to meet him and his crew, that would be great! This is Paulie's 25th and last year doing this To honor the heroes and victims of 9/11 and it's the first time that he's stopped in Portland. He'll be staying overnight in Firehouse 1 and we're glad to host him!
