Meals on Wheels urgently needs volunteer drivers Middletown and Cobb to deliver nutritious meals, perform wellness checks, and support. Requirements include a valid driver's license and insurance. Routes are on weekdays, usually taking 60–90 minutes during the lunch hour. Mileage reimbursement upon request. Please call 707-987-3113 for more information.

As part of Lake County OES’ 5 Steps to Prepare for Winter Weather, we’re continuing with Step 3 — planning ahead so you’re ready if winter storms disrupt power or services.

Step 3: Plan for Emergencies

Winter can bring unexpected or planned power outages. Preparing ahead helps you stay safe and comfortable when the power goes out.

Simple steps to consider:
⚕️ Create a backup power plan if you rely on medical devices or essential equipment
📦 Keep essentials on hand, including flashlights, batteries, blankets, non-perishable food, and water
🔋 Charge phones, devices, and backup batteries ahead of storms or outages
🧣 Stay Comfortable — blankets • games • books

Planning ahead reduces stress and helps you make informed decisions as conditions change.

REMINDER: All branches of the library will be closed for on Thursday, January 1 to observe New Year's Day. The Bookmobile will run it's regular route on January 1 and will be available.

All branches will reopen on Friday, January 2 at their normal time.
