What an incredible success March for Meals has been this year! Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our community, this was our most successful fundraiser yet—we have received $8,500 so far to support programs and services at the Senior Center. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our major contributors: South Lake Fire ($1,000), Rilla Krall and Family ($1,200), Linda Darms ($250), Monica Rosenthal ($200), Middletown Luncheon ($350), Hardester’s ($300), Middletown Rancheria ($500), Happy Smiles ($250), and Reynolds Systems ($2,500). We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to every single person who donated– no matter the amount. Your generous gifts make a lasting difference in the lives of our seniors. We also extend our sincere thanks to the 30+ participants who marched and to all who contributed in any way—through donations, volunteering, organization, and sheer enthusiasm. Your dedication and community spirit are what make events like this possible. Together, we’ve proven once again that when our community comes together, we can achieve great things. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! We lease this side of the building from the County of Lake, which gives us the right to enforce policies that help us maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming space for all. Our mission is to provide an enjoyable and safe environment for everyone, including our homebound seniors. Each week, we serve delicious meals Monday through Friday to our diners and deliver meals to those who can’t join us in person. Behind the scenes, we work very hard to keep this center running smoothly. That means applying for grants, coordinating more than 30 volunteers each month, and organizing activities and fundraisers to help make ends meet. There is also a great deal of paperwork and many unseen expenses, like monthly bills, that we must manage. When our focus is pulled away by disruptions, it makes it harder to keep things running as they should. Please be respectful of our staff and volunteers, who dedicate their time and energy to this community. Thank you for your understanding, your continued support, and your dedication to the center. I look forward to seeing many of you in the coming weeks—whether you are here for lunch, volunteering, or participating in our events.
