U.S. President Donald Trump has declined an offer from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to share Ukraine’s experience countering Iranian-designed drones, including the Shahed drone family.

In media interviews on March 13–14, Trump said the United States does not require outside assistance on drone defense and described Zelenskyy as “the last person we need help from.”

Zelenskyy had suggested Ukraine’s battlefield experience against drones supplied to Russia could help strengthen defenses against similar threats in the Middle East.

The exchange underscores growing strain in U.S.–Ukraine relations under the current administration.

Kim Jong Un has warned that North Korea could supply missiles to Iran if Tehran makes a formal request, according to state media statements released amid rising geopolitical tensions. The remarks come as military activities and regional disputes increase in several parts of the world.

Analysts say the comments highlight the growing strategic alignment among countries that challenge Western influence, including the United States and its allies. Pentagon officials told US lawmakers that the first six days of operations against Iran cost over US$11.3 billion, nearly US$1.9 billion per day.

The figure includes two aircraft carriers, more than 5,000 munitions such as Tomahawk missiles and long-range bomber strikes, and the costs of intercepting drones and ballistic missiles.

Officials note the total likely exceeds this, as logistics, ship operations, and personnel maintenance aren’t included. With stockpiles depleted, the Pentagon may request up to US$50 billion in supplemental funding, while lawmakers are pressing for clearer accounting of the campaign’s rising financial demands.
