NOTICE OF ELECTION OF MUNICIPAL OFFICERS

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, an election for the purpose of electing a Mayor and the City Council of Midfield, Alabama, will be held, and that all registered and qualified elections of the state, who resided therein for 90 days or more immediately preceding the date of the election, and who are qualified to vote in the county precinct which embraces and covers that part of the corporate limits of the city in which the electro resides, will be authorized to participate in the election.”

The qualifying period for this election shall be June 10th through June 24th, 2025.

The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at Midfield Community Center.

Any qualified elector will have resided within the municipality, for a period of at least 90 days on election day may qualify to run for office by filing the appropriate forms obtained from the City Clerks office located at Midfield City Hall 725, Bessemer Super Hwy and paying any appropriate fees to the City Clerk’s office as otherwise provided by law.

Renovations of the Midfield-Holt Community Garden are almost complete, and in celebration of this milestone, five people will be awarded a scholarship to attend special classes to learn how to grow their own vegetables!

The participants will be assigned their own raised bed, receive garden tools, choose what vegetables they want to grow, and be taught everything from A to Z about growing their veggies from a Master Gardner.

To apply for the scholarship, simply write a one-page essay on why you want to learn how to grow vegetables. Bring your essay to the garden pavilion on June 28th at 9:00 A.M. Qualifications for the scholarship include:

You must have a desire to learn how to grow veggies.
There are no age requirements.
Be committed to attending at least two months of Saturday morning classes.
