🏆 Congratulations, Officer Wray! 👮‍♂️

I am proud to have presented Officer Wray with the Meritorious Conduct Award last night during the Midfield City Council Meeting.

On May 31, 2026, Officer Wray demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to duty when he captured a wanted escapee from the Perry County Correctional PREP Center in Uniontown, Alabama.

As Chief, I am proud to recognize Officer Wray for his actions and the professionalism he demonstrated while representing the Midfield Police Department. This award is well deserved and is a reflection of the dedication he brings to this department and the citizens we serve.

📚🚔🚒 Welcome Back, Midfield!

The Midfield Police Department and Midfield Fire and Rescue joined together this morning to welcome our students back for the new school year!

It was great to see the excitement on the faces of our students as they started another year of learning, growing, and making new memories.

We are proud to support our schools, students, teachers, and families as we begin a new school year. To all of our students — work hard, be kind, make good choices, and have a great year!

Parents, teachers, and staff — thank you for all you do to support our children and our community.

On behalf of the men and women of the Midfield Police Department, I extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Assistant District Attorney William R. “Bill” North, who passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Bill North was an outstanding prosecutor whose commitment to justice and unwavering professionalism earned the respect of law enforcement officers throughout our community. I had the privilege of working with Bill on several cases, and he played an important role in mentoring me as I learned the criminal justice system. His knowledge, integrity, and willingness to share his experience left a lasting impact on both my career and countless others.

His dedication to serving the people of Jefferson County and supporting law enforcement will not be forgotten. The legacy he leaves behind will continue to be reflected in the pursuit of justice and the many lives he influenced throughout his distinguished career.

Please join the Midfield Police Department in keeping Bill’s family, loved ones, and the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Alabama Power is currently on scene working to repair the damaged power lines. For your safety and to allow crews to work efficiently, please avoid the area and use alternate routes until repairs are complete.
