Established in 1982, Midfield Volunteer Fire Department started out with a handful of willing volunteers and two trucks. Midfield Volunteer Fire Department has since grown to become one of the largest departments in Matagorda County. The department believes in providing the citizens of Matagorda County with the highest and most professional quality of service possible. Midfield VFD provides EMS/Fi

rst responder, fire suppression, and rescue services to the citizens of Matagorda County. Midfield VFD is 100% volunteer and relies nearly entirely on donations for most of its daily expenses. The department has scheduled training twice a month (4 hours) and has a business meeting once a month. The department is always accepting applications for membership, whether it be for operations or support staff. If you are interested in helping your community, feel free to message us for more information. Midfield VFD currently operates out of one station covering approximately 120sq miles. Midfield VFD provides automatic aid to Blessing and Tres Palacios Oaks through mutual aid agreements. Total Personnel: 30

This weekend the members of the Midfield VFD participated in the crawfish cookoff put on by The El Maton Country Club. We had a blast, and want to thank Eric and Shawn Kacer for doing this! Each team that won donated the money back to the scholarship fund for local kids! We absolutely loved being a part of this and giving back to the community that supports us! This is why we love our Tidehaven Community!
