Prioritize Students Over Political Agendas

I have known and worked with John Kinney for a number of years. He cares a great deal about our students and our schools, and he will ensure we are minding and prioritizing taxpayer dollars.

“When I left the board three years ago, we had just welcomed a new superintendent, put a strategic plan into motion, and maintained a fiscally sound budget. Unfortunately, since then, progress has been derailed by a new board majority that has prioritized political agendas over the best interests of our students, staff, and taxpayers.

“As someone who understands our school budget inside and out, has delivered a 0% tax increase for our towns, and has deep experience as a CEO, I am disheartened by the impact this board majority has had on our district’s reputation and its ability to focus resources where they are needed most—student academics and well-being.”

Last week the NJ Superior Court ruled that the Department of Environmental Protection should not have issued a Highlands Act exemption to Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) to build its massive East 300 pipeline expansion project in the Highlands Preservation Area.

This watershed decision comes after years of organizing from residents and activists across the region who have been fighting plans for this massive pipeline expansion project in NJ. Despite this ruling, Governor Murphy’s DEP has not yet issued a stop work order for the ongoing illegal construction activity on the West Milford compressor station.

Send a message to Governor Murphy, DEP Commissioner Shawn LaTourett, and the Highlands Council to demand they halt construction on this illegal project immediately:

Note that this pipeline goes through Oakland and Mahwah just a few miles north of us. None of this gas is used in New Jersey.

Two points to note here: Mr. Cicerchia was actually on the health and physical education curriculum committee. He also missed nearly 40% of the Wyckoff Board of Education meetings in the 2021-2022 school year.
