Another year for one of my favorite events!! ✈️

The 5th annual Fly Into Fall at Midland International Air & Space Port was such a success! They seem to keep getting better and better!

Poole For City Council and the entire airport staff do a phenomenal job with this community event every year and my girls and I always look forward to it!

Can’t wait for next year!

There are SO many sweet faces at Midland Animal Services waiting for someone to give them a chance!!❤️

Whether they’re big or small, playful or laid-back, every shelter pet deserves to know what it feels like to be loved, safe, and finally home!

If you’ve been thinking about adding a four legged friend to your family, consider adoption! You may walk in hoping to change an animal’s life and leave realizing they’ve changed yours, too! 🐶🏡

Our animal services department does a fantastic job pairing you with your perfect friend! Or take part in their “Doggy Day Out” program that lets you take one of the dogs out for some fun to try your connection! 🥰🐶

Adopt. Don’t shop. Give a shelter pet their second chance!🐾❤️

In case you missed this WIN! 🌳🛝

After receiving several questions and comments about the condition of some of the benches at Grasslands Park, I’m proud to share that we got the issue resolved! 🙌

Grasslands Park is such a popular spot for hundreds of kids and families in our community, and now there are plenty of places to sit, relax, enjoy a picnic, or watch the kids play!

Thank you to everyone who reached out and brought this to our attention. I’m always happy to listen, work toward a solution, and help keep District 4, and all of Midland, a great place for our families! 💙

Serving Midland is one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I am so grateful to be recognized alongside such an incredible group of leaders who work every day to make our community stronger.

Happy National Intern Day! 🎉

Today, we’re celebrating three outstanding interns who have spent their summer learning, serving, and experiencing local government firsthand. From attending meetings and exploring City facilities to climbing to the top of one of Midland’s water tanks, they’ve embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

Your hard work, fresh ideas, and commitment to serving our community have made a lasting impact. Investing in the next generation of leaders is one of the greatest privileges of public service, and I have no doubt each of you has a bright future ahead!

Thank you for your dedication to the City of Midland and for choosing to spend your summer making a difference. Happy National Intern Day! We’re proud of you! 💙

🛝 I’m excited to share that the new playground at Grasslands Park is officially open in District 4!

This project is another great investment in creating fun, safe places for Midland families to gather and play. The new playground features custom-designed play structures for children ages 2-5 and 5-12, integrated shade features to help beat the West Texas heat, and artificial turf surfacing for added comfort and accessibility.

A special thank you to SLB for helping make this project possible through their generous grant support. I’m also grateful to Midland’s own Playgrounds Etc for completing the installation after the design was approved by our Parks and Recreation Commission.

I can’t wait to see families making memories here for years to come. If you haven’t visited Grasslands Park yet, I hope you’ll stop by and check it out! 🌳

One of the best parts of serving on the Midland City Council is getting to know the incredible people who serve our community every day. Many of their contributions happen behind the scenes, but their dedication helps make Midland the place we call home!

That’s why I’m excited to begin an Employee Spotlight series to recognize the outstanding City of Midland employees who work each day to serve our residents.

I’m honored to kick off this series by recognizing Miste Badger.

Miste began her career with the City of Midland on December 1, 2011, in our Solid Waste Department. Since then, she has continued to serve our community in different capacities and now serves as the City’s Community Liaison, helping connect residents with City services, answering questions, and building relationships throughout Midland.

Whether she’s attending neighborhood meetings, working community events, or helping residents find solutions, Miste brings professionalism, compassion, and a true servant’s heart to everything she does. She understands that great local government starts with listening, communicating, and being present for the people we serve.

Thank you, Miste, for your years of dedicated service to the City of Midland. Your commitment to our residents and our community is appreciated, and I’m grateful for everything you do.
